TEA to begin refund of excess initiation fees paid

If you are a Wastewater TEA member whose Special Assessment statement showed you had already voluntarily contributed more than your initiation fee, read on.

The TEA Executive Board today reviewed projected finances through year-end and agreed to begin paying refunds to the applicable members. The first checks will be mailed (or available for pickup from our Treasurer Eric Davison) during the first week of January. This first installment of your refund will be one-half of the total refund owed (that was not voluntarily forgiven).

This will allow us to begin repaying you as promised by the TEA Board, completely eliminate all interest-bearing debt, and still maintain a reserve against expected costs for final arbitration of the Transit contract and for the hiring of a compensation specialist in the Wastewater wage and salary negotiations that have begun.

We anticipate that we will repay the next installment in February, assuming the Transit arbitration is final by then.

Thanks again for your past and continuing support - we wouldn't have gotten this far without you!

Eric Mandel, TEA President
