The last Mediation session was held on February 18th. Tea proposed to meet again, but King did not respond TEA scheduling requests. As a result, TEA filed a letter of complaint with King County Executive Ron Sims on March 10. According to King County Ordinance 11480, the Executive is allowed 15 days to respond. No response has been received to date. Ordinance 11480 allows TEA to appeal to the Council Labor, Operations and Technology Committee for relief. TEA is meeting with Council members in advance of this action.

Transit
The first week of Arbitration was held on March 2,3,4&5. TEA opened with a defense of our wage proposal supported by three days of testimony and exhibits. Many TEA members took advantage of the opportunity to witness a portion of the proceedings. King County began a presentation of their wage proposal on March 5th and will continue when Arbitration resumes on April 26-30th. If you are interested in sitting in on this process, contact Elizabeth Morgan, Dave Crippen, Nancy Gordon, or Paul Miller to find out the times and location.

Nominations for Grievance Committee Member Sought

According to the recently approved amendments in TEA's Bylaws, the Board appoints four members to the Grievance Committee for two-year terms (terms will overlap so that half of the committee members are appointed each year).

The Board has received two nominations thus far. Additional nominations will be accepted via email to Elizabeth Morgan, 1st Vice-President and at the April 21 Regular TEA meeting.

Congratulations to the Brightwater Siting Team!
